What Does My Savings Total Mean?

Housing Perks

Last updated on Oct 14, 2026

Your savings total shows the discounts from your Housing Perks purchases. It is a record of your savings, rather than money waiting to be paid to you.

A simple example

If you pay £95 for a £100 voucher, you have already saved £5. The £5 stays in your bank account because you paid less.

If you choose rent contributions instead, the saving goes towards your rent. Check the Rent tab for the contribution amounts and payment details.

You choose how to use future savings: keep the discount straight away or put it towards rent, if your landlord offers that option.

Your savings total is different from the money left on a voucher. It also does not tell you whether a particular rent payment has reached your landlord.
