Tenancy Verification
Finding your tenancy reference and getting help with verification.
Why does my tenancy, payment or housing reference say it is incorrect when I try to sign up?
The app may reject your reference if you selected the wrong landlord, made a typing mistake or used a different account number. What to try 1. Check that you selected the landlord that offers you Housing Perks. 2. Enter the reference shown on your landlord's letter, email or rent statement. 3. Check for missing letters or numbers. If you have several references, ask your landlord which one to use for Housing Perks. If it still fails, tell support your mobile number, landlord's name and the error shown. Include a recent landlord document showing the reference, with unrelated personal and banking details hidden. Need help? In the Housing Perks app, tap Help, then the support email address or Contact Support button. If you cannot use the app, use our contact form.
I do not know my tenancy reference. How do I find it?
Look for your tenancy reference on your landlord's letters, emails, rent statements or online tenant account. It may be called a payment reference, housing reference or rent account number. If you cannot find it Ask your landlord which reference to use for Housing Perks. Your landlord can give you the correct number. If you have received an email with a voucher or payment-card claim link, follow that email's instructions. You may be able to claim it without entering a tenancy reference. Need help? In the Housing Perks app, tap Help, then the support email address or Contact Support button. If you cannot use the app, use our contact form.
I am a new tenant. Why can't the app verify my tenancy yet?
If you have just moved in, your landlord may not have sent us your new tenancy details yet. The app needs those details to check your reference. What to do 1. Ask your landlord whether Housing Perks is available to you. 2. Ask for the reference to use for your new tenancy. 3. If the app still rejects it, contact support with your landlord's name, move-in date and the error shown. A reference from a previous tenancy may not work for your new one. If you already have an account with unused vouchers, tell us before making account changes. We will explain the next step after checking your details. Need help? In the Housing Perks app, tap Help, then the support email address or Contact Support button. If you cannot use the app, use our contact form.
Which reference should I enter: tenancy reference, rent reference, payment reference, or property reference?
Use the reference your landlord asks you to enter for Housing Perks. This may be your tenancy reference, payment reference or rent account number. Different numbers on the same letter can be for different purposes. A property reference may not be the number needed for sign-up. Not sure which one to use? Check your Housing Perks invitation or ask your landlord which reference to use. If you still need help, tell support your landlord's name and the labels next to the references you have. Hide unrelated details if you send a screenshot. Need help? In the Housing Perks app, tap Help, then the support email address or Contact Support button. If you cannot use the app, use our contact form.
Which social landlord or organisation should I select during sign-up?
Choose the landlord or employer that offers you Housing Perks. For tenants, this is usually your housing association or council. For staff, choose your employer. How to check Look at your Housing Perks invitation, landlord's email, tenancy letter or staff information. If you chose the wrong organisation, go back to that step and select the correct one. Your reference may not work under a different organisation. If you cannot find your organisation or are unsure which name to choose, tell support its name and what you see in the app. Need help? In the Housing Perks app, tap Help, then the support email address or Contact Support button. If you cannot use the app, use our contact form.
Can support manually verify me if I send a social landlord letter, screenshot, or statement?
Yes. If the app cannot verify your tenancy, our support team can check your details manually. What to send Tell us your sign-up mobile number, landlord's name and the error shown in the app. We may ask for a recent letter, rent statement or screenshot from your landlord showing the landlord's name and your tenancy or payment reference. An online statement is fine. Hide unrelated personal and banking details. Do not send identity documents unless we ask for them. We will check whether you are eligible before confirming access. Sending a document does not automatically approve your account. Need help? In the Housing Perks app, tap Help, then the support email address or Contact Support button. If you cannot use the app, use our contact form.
