Housing Perks helps you save on your shopping. It does not make the shopping itself free.

You buy a voucher in the app, then use it to pay for shopping at that retailer.

## A simple example

If a £100 voucher has a 5% saving:

- **Keep the saving:** you pay £95 for the voucher and can spend £100 at the retailer.
- **Choose rent contributions:** you pay £100 for the voucher, can spend £100 at the retailer, and £5 goes towards your rent.

You choose which option to use in the **Rent** tab, if your landlord offers rent contributions. You can still keep the saving if you prefer.

The app is free to use. Check the saving, payment total and retailer's rules before you buy.
